I'm talking about a lakeside area, called Gavier Lake , situated a bit out of Surat city area,nearby the

Dumas road. Its connected to the Surat city, almost nearby to Surat Airport, approximately 2 km from airport. We can easily drive via our private bike, cars that takes merely 5-6 minutes from Airport.. This place is developed by Surat Nature Club, which is a group of people working towards to attract

more and more birds.

They started developing the lake by planting different trees. By the time they

have planted around 3000 trees and still they are doing their best to maintain, water them. They organize the meet up every Sunday, plant trees and water them. To provide the security and maintenance they have employed a watchman who will not be allowing anyone in abnormal time visits. They have been maintaining a proper time schedule for the lake visit.

As time went by, the increasing count of visiting birds and butterflies added the joy and happiness to Nature club and that's the fuel they always work on. The best time to visit the lake is during the October to March. Surtis have been always taking part toward the betterment of the city and by keeping the natural treasure untouched. There are different Photographers group in Surat city, who organize the photo-walks and its best place for bird watchers.
